  Most of the concerts on our list, including the Lauren Anderson performance on July 11, 2024, are part of the free Levitt Pavilion concert series, which runs all summer long. These concerts showcase both new and well-known artists from a dizzying array of genres, all hosted in a fun, family-friendly setting with zero cost to attend. Lauren Anderson is a blues artist from Chicago who now resides in Nashville and won the Best New Blues Artist from the Independent Blues Awards in 2022.

• Terrance Simien & The Zydeco Experience – 134 South Main St., Dayton, OH 45402
  Next up from the Levitt Pavilion series, Terrance Simien & The Zydeco Experience take the stage in Dayton on July 19, 2024. With more than 7,000 shows in 45 countries, this band has traveled the world and picked up many musical influences as a result. At the heart of everything is an authentic New Orleans sound, which is effortlessly blended with international influences to create something fresh, new, and invigorating.

• Ruthie Foster – 134 South Main St., Dayton, OH 45402
  Ruthie Foster is a veteran blues artist with 9 studio albums to her name, and she'll be bringing her unique sound to Dayton on August 8, 2024. Her latest album features more of her own songwriting than anything she's released before, and you're sure to hear plenty of new tunes with the backing of her long-time band. She began writing the album in 2020, and the theme of healing is present throughout every song.

• Sweet Lizzy Project – 134 South Main St., Dayton, OH 45402
  A pop-rock band led by frontwoman Lisset Diaz which has taken the stage with legends like Joan Jett and Heart, Sweet Lizzy Project has seen a rapid rise in popularity over the last few years. This performance on September 6, 2024 will be the final show from the Levitt Pavilion series that we highlight, but it's well worth checking out their full list of concerts for the summer. There are usually at least 3 to 4 shows per week, from now through mid-September.

• Best Dead City Festival – 905 E. 3rd St., Dayton, OH 45402
  The Best Dead City Festival is a uniquely Dayton event, highlighting some of the best local bands with six packed hours of shows on August 9, 2024, at The Brightside. More than a dozen talented local bands will be performing with shows across two stages, and there will be pop-ups from some great Dayton shops as well. Every band has deep Dayton roots, including Turboslacker who will be celebrating with a record release party during the event. Note that guests under 18 are welcome at this event, but only with a parent or guardian.
