Luckily, there are a number of amazing family-friendly aquatic centers all throughout Montgomery County.
Montgomery County homes for sale are generally within a short drive of a seasonal aquatic center or two. In most cases, Montgomery County public pools open for the season in May, although some may open a little bit earlier depending on weather conditions. Most of these pools are completely free of charge to residents.
Let's take a look at just a few of the many Montgomery County public pools:
- Adventure Reef Water Park – 2900 Glengarry Drive, Kettering, OH 45420
Adventure Reef Water Park is open between May 25 and August 11 every year. It then has a post-season from August 17 to September 2. This 3-acre aquatic facility was constructed back in 1990 and received an end-to-end expansion in 2011. It boasts the highest and fastest water slides anywhere in Montgomery County!
- Northwest Recreation Center – 1600 Princeton Drive, Dayton, OH 45406
Northwest Recreation Center is full of all kinds of different facilities that can help you get exercise all year long. Still, the aquatic center remains one of the most popular aspects that locals look forward to every year. Since it is entirely indoors, the Northwest Recreation Center pool has a relatively long season every year.
- Kroger Aquatic Center – 8625 Brandt Pike, Huber Heights, OH 45424
Kroger Aquatic Center kicks off on Saturday of Memorial Day weekend every year, a highly anticipated event in Huber Heights. Open every day of the week to local residents (with resident-only days on both Monday and Wednesday), it is a beautiful and modern outdoor pool featuring a popular water slide.
- Soak City – 50 Kings Island Drive, Mason, OH 45034
Soak City is a private water park that's one of the highlights of the summer for kids in Mason, OH, and all of the surrounding communities. It features no less than three dozen water slides as well as more than a dozen other water activities for all ages. There's also plenty of dining available with something for the whole family.
- Germantown Aquatic Center – 75 North Walnut Street, Germantown, OH 45327
Germantown Aquatic Center is located in Veterans Memorial Park right in the heart of town. It is open daily in the summer from June through August. Its Olympic-sized pool, diving area, and two water slides make it fun for kids and adults, while tots can also enjoy the separate wading pool. There's also a concession stand.
- Splash Zone – 300 Eagle City Road, Springfield, OH 45502
Splash Zone is another option with the classic opening times of May 25 through August 11. It features a grand total of 400 feet of water slides, a river of nearly 300 feet, and the very first water bowl slide in Ohio, known as "the Water Vortex." It is a completely ADA-compliant facility.
- Troy Aquatic Park – 460 West Staunton Drive, Troy, OH 45373
Troy Aquatic Park is another awesome place to cool off in the summer and has so many things to try, you will want to visit again and again. You can discover two giant water slides, a drop slide, plenty of interactive play equipment, a diving board, and even a fully heated wading pool for little kids. It is sure to be a summer favorite.
